  1. Are you certain this is her final film of the year? It does feel as though we have been following the AHCU—the Anne Hathaway Cinematic Universe—as you describe it. The Glitz, Glamour, and Camp Era explores the peaks and valleys of intense fame, creative ego, and toxic workplaces. We follow her into Greek mythology, standing by her while she waits for Odysseus’s long journey home, then shift to a suburban 1980s neighborhood torn into a prehistoric dinosaur nightmare through cosmic wormholes. We end this journey with a seductive, twisted psychological thriller.

Having missed the announcements of her films this year, she certainly packed a lot in. She knew she was heading into maternity leave and needed to deliver her projects, leaving us on a cliffhanger about what comes next. Fear not—we expect three films next year. First, alongside Adam Driver, we will enter a gritty Afghanistan war; then we can learn what it means for Mia Thermopolis to rule as a modern queen. Finally, we follow a group of women, including Hathaway, who curate a flawless 1800s homesteading lifestyle online, only to be pushed into a real-stakes survival scenario without running water, modern medicine, or internet access.

Certainly, Anne Hathaway is an actress who has developed over the past two decades into a beautiful and interesting tapestry.

I am looking forward to this film and the many more projects she takes on.

    1. Yes: She has done The Devil Wears Prada 2; Mother Mary; The Odyssey; The End of Oak Street; and now Verity. NOTHING more until next year I suppose. She announced “Days of Thunder 2” with Tom Cruise a few weeks ago, but that hits theaters in 2028!

      1. Just came out from Verity; it’s was a good film and that twist at the end leaves questioning am I Team Manuscript or Team Letter. The film keeps that fundamental ambiguity alive, but it makes two major tweaks to how Lowen and Jeremy handle the aftermath vs the novel. We both loved it and it’s great conclusion of the AHCU (Anne Hathaway’s Cinematic Universe). Beyond the plot twists, the production captures that classic late-90s/early-2000s psychological thriller energy that big studios rarely greenlight anymore.

  2. This was alright. It started out very well and then just became another version of the Housemaid. This could have been a lifetime channel movie. Amazon still hasn’t gotten their production up to industry sstandards. Josh H. does play an awesome villian.

    1. Yeah, he was great in “Trap!” Wow! I can see how you can refer back to “The Housemaid,” but they leave you thinking so much with what is reality. That is the aspect I liked a lot – this was waaayyy NOT predictable! I have not ever seen Anne in a role like this!
