The Plot: A father makes a bad parenting choice by taking his young son to a wild hip-hop festival, leading to chaos as they navigate crowds, security, and family dynamics with eccentric companions.
Inspired by Real-life Experiences!
I was genuinely surprised to learn that this outrageous comedy film was inspired by real events, as revealed by the director, Jeremy Giarelick. I must admit, I found myself laughing uncontrollably throughout the movie. It’s truly remarkable to see the lengths a father will go to in order to be perceived as a “cool dad.” The plot revolves around him sneaking his underage son into a concert that he clearly shouldn’t be attending, given the age restrictions. It’s a wild scenario, but it resonates because we all know that kids often view their parents as heroes when they bend or break the rules, whether it’s a significant infraction or a minor one. This dynamic adds a layer of humor and relatability to the film, making it both entertaining and thought-provoking.
Wading Through the Hilarious Chaos
When his son goes missing, he boldly confronts cops, guards, security, a clueless friend, and a helpful girl at the event to recover Zion. The entire film centers on the father’s relentless quest, alongside his two friends, to find him. Although Owen Wilson’s name is never mentioned, he is referred to as GD throughout the film. You’ll need to watch it to uncover the meaning behind that! I promise, no spoilers here! GD skillfully deceives others and navigates the chaos of a crowded parking lot filled with countless people to locate his son.
The Climax of a Wildly Chaotic Adventure
When Zion and his dad are prohibited by his mother from attending the concert, GD takes charge, recognizing how passionate Zion is about this event. His parents have never witnessed such excitement and enthusiasm from him before, but his mother is simply being protective. The music Zion loves is rap-based and filled with profanity. If Zion were my child, I would struggle with allowing him to listen to such music while trying to be protective. However, I understand that children must live their own lives and become the individuals their parents raised them to be. This theme resonated with me throughout the film. While it’s important to be cool, parents must remember that they are the ones raising their children. Sometimes, being a parent means making tough choices and appearing “lame” to protect them from potential loss, disaster, or heartache. That’s the essence of parenting.

The only unbelievable part is that Owen Wilson’s nickname is GD, haha
I know right .. he has NO name in IMDB or online! Crazy – his role was like in Kill Bill; he is The Father. 🤣
Hmmm, a little film I never heard of. We’re just a month apart from Runner, so it’s cool he’s back at comedy. Maybe I’ll check it out as I have a soft spot for Owen.
This one is LOL funny! Hope ur theater has it! 🤞
