Truly breaks my heart how a group of people were treated all b/c their pigment was a darker color! These kind of movies really get to me like The Help. I’m actually looking forward to cuddling up on the couch to watch this one when it streams!

Malcolm X was never about violence and fear — he spoke up directly, honestly, and truly, like so many other leaders in the world whom has passsed on trying to make the world a better place. I just feel the world will never get to where it needs to be, and that is truly said to me.

Thanks Travis! This review was heartfelt. It captures the essence of the film with any spoilers. I would like to highlight one moment in the film that blew me away (spoiler alert to anyone reading). When Scarpa and Strider were driving around, Agent Strider asked what would happen if the roles were reversed. Scarpa said he would kill all of them. Basically, the ways of Malcolm X get results that are necessary for respect and survival.

IKR. Pretty scary how believable he is in these roles. I never get over the fact that people can make movies like this and be so believable, but I have to wonder if they really do feel that way because they play the role so flawlessly!

I love historical films like this too, but the use of racial slurs and the N-word really gets to me. That is how it truly was in those tough times, unfortunately.

Oh wow, I love historical movies like this. What a difficult time in our country, but it is certainly something we need to remember so we don't receive it. I'm looking forward to watching this!
