The Plot: A horror writer visits an Irish inn to scatter his parents’ ashes, unaware the property is said to be haunted by a witch.
Pure Hell
I approached this movie without any particular expectations, neither high nor low. However, I found myself drifting off into a peaceful nap, completely indifferent to the film’s beginning, the gaps in the middle, and the confusing ending. The plot was utterly nonsensical to me, and I struggled to grasp its meaning. If others found value in this film, that’s great for them, but personally, I found it to be quite foolish and lacking any coherent sense.
Fiona
Fiona’s character was confusing and poorly developed. She is introduced as a bartender at the hotel where Ohm goes to scatter his parents’ ashes. After she discovers him hanging from a ceiling fan, the film never returns to this shocking moment. Later, it’s revealed that Fiona has been missing since the Halloween party, but the timeline is unclear. The plot leaves many gaps, making it feel like Swiss cheese with its numerous holes.
What Was the Point of This Movie?
I find it incredibly challenging to comprehend Jordan Peele’s films; while I can grasp some of his conceptual themes, this particular movie completely eludes my understanding.

A big loser…..
So agree!
Totally agree with your review. I was getting sleepy during it trying to figure out what was going on. I can’t believe some of the reviews it’s been getting. And Adam Scott is one of my favorite actors too.
No one can make 5 flops in a row like Jennifer Lawrence can, sadly.
I had already forgetten about this movie.
LMAO!!!
If it were a short review, it would be that horrible. Sheesh.
It was.
