No, I was informed that this was NOT a re-make @ all.

What I actually got was a movie so absurdly stupid that I found myself as the only person in the entire auditorium laughing out loud. Now you’re telling it’s a remake? I just watched the trailer with Clint Howard and both movies are not similar. The acting was bad.. When you finally learn why these kids are turning into psychotic murderers, it feels like Roth just couldn’t think of anything better.

Very much true. With you being in film production, you know what to spot and what to look for in a film!

I thought it was just ok, not pristine but the gore and bleak ending were my favorite parts. The AI was noticable in the film but not as jarring as the other reviewers lead you to believe.

The movie felt like a less successful Maximum Overdrive, Weapons and Halloween III: Season of the Witch lovechild.

I’d give it a 5.5/10

I expected this film to be much better than it was. The gore was excessively brutal and looked incredibly fake. To call this one of the summer’s hottest blockbusters is misleading; it was short, sad, and ultimately disappointing.
