The Plot: A dysfunctional married couple retreats to a secluded cabin to repair their relationship, but each secretly plots to murder the other.
The Mr. & The Mrs.: The Saga Continues
It is fascinating how married couples often experience minor disagreements and arguments, yet many manage to resolve their issues and concerns. However, some conflicts resurface over time, leading to situations where separation seems to be the only viable option due to irreconcilable differences. This is truly unfortunate, as a successful marriage requires a united front, built on love, trust, honesty, and open communication from both partners. Compromise is also a fundamental aspect of any relationship, whether platonic or romantic, as it ensures that both parties feel valued and heard.
Dan & Lisa Burton
In the film, Dan and Lisa are central figures whose complex relationship drives the narrative. Set against the backdrop of a secluded cabin, the plot intricately weaves their covert intentions to eliminate one another, creating a tense atmosphere filled with suspense. As the story unfolds, viewers are taken on a rollercoaster ride of unforeseen developments and shocking revelations that challenge the characters’ motives and decisions. The film expertly maintains an air of unpredictability, with each twist heightening the stakes and keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. This dynamic storytelling not only captivates but also invites viewers to ponder the depths of trust and betrayal within relationships.
The Time Frame Loops
One particularly captivating element of the film that I absolutely adored was its unique narrative structure. The film began with a compelling hook and continued to utilize a clever technique throughout, seamlessly filling in the gaps of the present-day storyline. The screen would frequently flash phrases like “3 days ago,” along with specific hours and even seconds, providing context and depth to the unfolding events. While I have encountered this storytelling method in other films, its execution here was truly remarkable.
Additionally, the film was unexpectedly filled with intense gore, which took me by surprise! The level of graphic content was both shocking and exhilarating, adding to the overall experience. It was a thrilling ride, and I found myself thoroughly enjoying every moment of it. The combination of suspense, humor, and unexpected twists made for an absolutely wonderful viewing experience, and I genuinely loved this film!

Jason Segel has never failed me yet.
Did you ever see him in the NOLA movie “Jeff Who Lives at Home?” I met him on the set of that movie. I wasn’t in it, but I was walking through the neighborhood and saw him with Ed Helms. We took a picture together. Both of them were so cool!
No I did not. I should check it out
It was quite the comedy. I am pretty sure that you can find it on streaming since it came out in 2011.
