I always go into Statham’s films with a medium expectation and not anything Oscar-worthy. This film was not advertised as much in theaters; the cinematography was weak, and he was the only well-known star. All of those factors came into play when I rated it the way that I did, honestly.

This film is a solid B+. You don’t go into a Jason Statham film expecting an Oscar-caliber performance; you go into it expecting him to F*** people and that is what we got. I do agree with Jay in that I too would have loved to see more insight into the Black Kites.

I enjoyed it but hate that it was not advertised as much as some of his other films were. Maybe because he was the ONLY main character in the movie that I have heard of.

I agree with you on how Jason Statham and Bodhi Rae Breathnach carried the movie. We only got a brief glimpse into his MI6 history; adding an extra 20–30 minutes to explore the “Black Kites” ops would have been great to flesh out the Mason’s world before calling it a day. The EDM score was lit and really drove the energy of the action sequences. I’m looking forward to The Beekeeper 2 next year—which, alongside The Transporter, remains his best work.
