Plot: When a mysterious letter calls him back to Silent Hill in search of his lost love, James (Jeremy Irvine) finds a once-recognizable town and encounters terrifying figures, both familiar and new, and begins to question his own sanity.
Is This Really A Good Return to the Hill …the Silent Hill …
Absolutely not! The first movie in this franchise was absolutely dreadful, so much so that I couldn’t even bring myself to watch the second installment. I found myself briefly tempted to check out this latest release, but I discovered that it isn’t a sequel at all; it’s a complete reboot of the original story. In my opinion, there’s no point in revisiting any version of that hill—whether it’s supposed to be silent, delayed in revealing its horrors, or fully alive with chaos. There should be an end to these films altogether. They’ve consistently failed to deliver any redeeming qualities, and at this point, it feels like the franchise has run its course and can’t be salvaged.
What Did I …or Didn’t I Just Watch?
That seems to be the million-dollar question! I assigned this film the rating I did because it truly deserves a viewing from countless fans who have played the video game and cherish these cinematic adaptations. However, I believe that merely featuring frightening creatures and humans with eight legs reminiscent of an octopus does not necessarily qualify this as a genuinely scary movie. In my opinion, the essence of horror goes beyond surface-level designs and requires a deeper emotional impact.
It’s Totally Up To YOU!
I’ll leave the decision on whether to see this movie to you, but I must emphasize how truly dreadful and disappointing it was for me. Honestly, there’s very little more that needs to be said!

I haven’t watched it yet but still plan on seeing it at some point. A friend saw it over the weekend and said she wished she hadn’t wasted her time.
Just as I stated! You can wait!
Good to see I am not the only one that feels this way about this one… thanks!!!!
Always bro!
The games were awesome, haunting ,and scary but a full on movie just doesn’t seem interesting enough for me. Much less a reboot? Playing on the gamers to pay money, but at least everyone involved got a paycheck and that is worth something right?
Ditto and Touche bay-bay! LOL
