  1. Wow, a 3 isn’t bad. I definitely give it a 5. I thought the characters were great and the story was fun. And the twists kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time!! The main actress did such a great job!!!

  2. The main character freaked me out after a while, especially the way she started killing people – WOW – and you know what? If he would’ve never broken the one-wish thing, Nikki asked him…. Did he have any feelings, or did he want to say anything? He had that moment right there to tell her the truth, because it seemed like she had feelings for him as well before she turned back into the house.

When she woke up from the curse, I’m pretty sure she noticed everything that she’d done; that’s the sick part about it, to have to live with that, but overall, I give it a 4 1/2. I really liked it. It was very interesting. It kept me on my toes. Had my mouth open.

    1. I think that no matter what the actual genre of a film is, if the characters behave and do what they are supposed to do, then the film will be less than 30 minutes long, if that. So with that being said, yes, he could have told her how he actually & truly felt about her OR even made a wish that he could wish for more courage and strength—making a wish like that has a lower rate of something bad or detrimental happening. Don’t you think so?

  3. We finally saw this flick, and my wife and I kept looking at each other with shocked facial expressions of “WTF” at every eerie and messed-up behavior from Nikki. It’s an incredibly unsettling watch that takes a classic trope and warps it into something deeply disturbing.

Inde Navarrette (best known as Lana Lang’s daughter in Superman & Lois) was stellar in this film. She put on an absolute clinic, portraying just about every intense emotion or mood reminiscent of someone dealing with a bipolar disorder. Her transition from a sarcastic friend to an unhinged, possessive shadow of herself gave the movie its terrifying momentum. Landing in theaters right during Mental Health Awareness Month, her performance added a jarring layer of real-world weight to the supernatural horror.

While the “be careful what you wish for” concept isn’t a completely unique story—strongly echoing the darker morality tales of the Wishmaster franchise—the execution here felt fresh. It successfully revolved around four characters in their early 20s just trying to get their lives together, making the stakes feel much more personal before the chaos unleashed.

You can’t help but feel Bear. His situation hits a nerve because many of us have had plenty of missed opportunities in life simply due to a lack of courage to speak up. Would I have resorted to magic? Probably. If I knew the horrific ramifications of breaking that One Wish Willow, I probably would have use it to ask for self-confidence as you mentioned instead of forcing someone else’s feelings. You want it to be natural.

This was a chaotic, uncomfortable thrill ride that will make you think twice about the things you wish for in the dark.

    1. Your insights on this film are impressive. I completely resonate with your thoughts, as I share the same feelings. It takes a lot of courage to assert oneself, and many people find this challenging for various reasons. I believe Bear finally expressed his feelings to Nikki, but it was unfortunate that it happened when they were already a couple.
