“Psycho Killer” Movie Review

Plot: Following the brutal murder of her husband, a Kansas highway patrol officer (Georgina Campbell) sets out on a journey to track down the perpetrator. As the hunt progresses, she comes to realize the man responsible is a sadistic serial killer, and the depth of his mental depravity and his sinister agenda is more twisted than anyone could have imagined.

Bloody Galore!

     This film was bizarre and satanic! I never expected this movie to take the turn it did! I’ve never seen a film in which someone goes on a random killing spree to satisfy his desire for Satan! Yes, that is what the film was about. That was a dark turn that I didn’t see coming, and I kept telling myself that this couldn’t be happening…why am I still sitting here watching this? I couldn’t answer the question. I suppose it was because I was intrigued by the storyline and wanted to see where it would lead and go, and it held my attention. When people say they were caught off guard by something, this film is the best example of that! 

Following In The Footsteps Of …

   ….someone in particular whom you admire, want to emulate, or must be your protégé can go either way. In today’s world, where anyone can be swallowed whole and spit out, it can go either way. Peer pressure is more prevalent than ever, and there are some people in the world today who can choose the right and follow a righteous path toward stability, independence, light, and goodness, whereas others choose the dark path, and the traits shown to these less strong-minded individuals can lead them down a very dangerous path, as the Slasher did in this film. This is the comparison I couldn’t stop thinking about as I watched this brutal film unfold.

     I have to say that Georgina Campbell played the role of the bereaved widow who persevered and continued to seek justice for her husband’s brutal murder very well. You don’t hear about someone seeing their loved one or significant other brutally attacked or killed right in front of their eyes every day, and I’m grateful that it’s not a major but still common news story that I read or hear about regularly. However, in life, some people have a strong will and tenacity to seek justice for someone they care about, whether or not police are involved. I admire Jane’s determination to face a vigilante serial killer and avenge her husband’s death. When they named this film “Psycho Killer,” they named it masterfully—it really suits what I witnessed, which was a complete psycho going on a killing spree for a very uncalled-for purpose, all because of what he chose to believe and follow in the footsteps of someone who was not right mentally or emotionally. Be careful who you choose to follow and be around—will they be a good example for you … or one like the psycho killer ….
