The Plot: Two friends find themselves caught up in mayhem involving killers, monsters, and supernatural creatures once again.
A Parody Done … or Undone?
I have come across numerous reviews and online articles discussing this movie, with many expressing concerns about perceived disrespect towards individuals. However, I find it challenging to identify where this disrespect originates, aside from the film’s frequent homosexual references throughout its entirety. This aspect made me somewhat uncomfortable, especially given that the previous five films in the series were centered on specific themes.
In contrast, this film draws inspiration from past horror and thriller movies, yet the continuous homosexual references felt excessive to me. I fully recognize that these films aim to offer a lighthearted escape from reality and provide humor, but it’s important to acknowledge that not everyone will interpret them in the same manner. Each viewer brings their own unique perspective, which can lead to varied reactions to the content presented.
Reuniting The Old Gang Back Again!
It was truly exciting to witness the reunion of many original cast members from the past Scary Movie franchise. Seeing Cindy and Brenda back together was nothing short of iconic. These two legendary characters are beloved by all! The actresses who portray Brenda and Cindy fully immerse themselves in their roles, and it’s evident that they have a blast on set while filming. This camaraderie likely contributes to their remarkable friendship both on and off screen. Finding a scene partner with whom you can share lines and ad-lib makes the movie even more enjoyable for everyone, as it stems from a genuine place of friendship and sisterhood. Additionally, seeing the iconic character of Shorty, who still enjoys getting high off weed, was a delightful treat. He adds a unique blend of humor that makes these movies not only scary but also incredibly funny!
A Sequel?
While this film was highly anticipated and unexpected, I believe that this reunion, which brought back many beloved characters, should end here. Although the movie was consistently funny from start to finish, it did not deliver the legendary comeback that many were hoping for. After waiting 13 long years, not counting any spin-offs during that time, I think it’s best to conclude the series with this installment.

I knew it!!
What did you know?
I still remember seeing the first one in a theatre in Staten Island. I was just a young fella …I’m sure it will have that nostalgic feeling, but I mean, after 6, how much more can they milk the cow!? Also, that kind of humor is funny when you’re in your 20s, but does it hold up when you’re in your 40s? We shall see since it won the box office!
Yeah—it has been getting a very heated number of negative feedback online, and I can agree that they went a tad bit overboard with the homosexuality in this one compared to all the others. I can see why some were offended by it, but it is definitely nostalgic …for sure!!
