Plot: Days before their wedding, a couple’s (Zendaya & Robert Pattinson) relationship is shaken when one partner discovers unsettling truths about the other!
The Drama Ensues! For Sure!!
At last, a film that genuinely embodies its title! The palpable tension between Charlie and Emma is a driving force throughout the narrative. The story kicks off during a seemingly innocuous dinner party, where the couple finds themselves engaged in a lighthearted game of “tell us the worst thing you’ve ever done.” This dinner includes another couple, already married and basking in their shared experiences, which sets a relaxed atmosphere. However, as is often the life case, a seemingly innocent comment ignites the central conflict of the film. I will say this—this film is not anything to rush to the theaters to see, but it’s good and very comical from start to finish and not what I would personally call a romantic comedy.
Watch What You Say & The Dramatic Effect That It Has!
A single remark, taken out of context, triggers a chain reaction that profoundly impacts Charlie’s and Emma’s relationship. This moment creates a dramatic ripple effect that unfolds over the course of the movie, revealing the complexities of their bond. The essence of drama is encapsulated in the definition: “an exciting, emotional, or unexpected series of events or a set of circumstances.” This film exemplifies that definition, as unexpected events spiral out of control, leading to revelations that neither character anticipated.
Can Drama Be Overlooked: Big or Small?
Emma’s candid response to the question becomes the catalyst for turmoil. Had she chosen to withhold the truth or frame her answer differently, the ensuing chaos might have been avoided. Instead, her honesty leads to a confrontation that no one at the table, including her future husband, can overlook. The atmosphere shifts dramatically as Charlie and the others press Emma for clarification, unable to move past her revelation. They repeatedly question the validity of her statement and the motivations behind her words, creating an intense atmosphere of scrutiny and doubt.
Despite Emma’s efforts to explain and defend herself, the weight of her truth hangs heavily in the air, creating an insurmountable barrier between her and Charlie. The film delves deep into the emotional turmoil that arises from this moment, exploring themes of trust, vulnerability, and the consequences of honesty in relationships. As the story progresses, viewers witness the unraveling of their connection, illustrating how a single moment can alter the course of a relationship forever. The film masterfully captures the essence of drama, showcasing how one seemingly trivial game can lead to profound revelations and emotional upheaval, leaving audiences captivated by the unfolding narrative.

I liked this movie a lot!!! Great review… and I agree it’s definitely not a rom-com.
Oh, absolutely not a romantic comedy. It was more like a “com-com” than that of a rom-com! Lol
So this is more of a comedy type? It’s giving me “The Breakup” vibes lol. As for the co-stars, I’m down overall because of them.
Yeah—it’s not like “The Breakup,” but it is a redemption for Pattinson’s last horrible film that I WOULD NOT EVEN CALL A FILM—”Mickey 17.”
Now that is hilarious 🤣🤣
No one talks about Mickey
Are you saying this to be funny, OR are you saying this as if no one talks about it because the movie was so dead awful?
I like the premise based in the trailer, but not so when I watched the entire movie.
I have to be honest with you: I wasn’t very impressed with the trailer, and I felt the same way when I watched the whole thing.
It was a bachelor night for me as my wife was on a business trip, so I decided to catch this flick. I don’t know what to classify it but def not a rom-com. It’s a slow burn, but there were some shock moments. Not a flick I would spend on concessions and catch it on streaming. Not even rent it; wait till it’s actually free.
Both actors are good, and I kind of dug the ending. The guy sitting next to me did enjoy it.
Uh-oh! I am scared to ask what you mean by “the guy next to you enjoyed it.” I feel like something more is there with that statement! LOL
The guy had his own commentary with his buddy. At the end of the movie he said he enjoyed it. Don’t get me wrong, we both laughed at the same punch lines.
Oh, absolutely! When you find yourself laughing at the same humorous lines, it indicates that the content resonated with you, evoking genuine amusement or a broad smile. I’m pleased you took the time to watch it, but for me, it’s a one-time experience. However, there was certainly an abundance of drama that permeated the entire movie without pause, making the title of the film truly fitting and exceptional!
