“Masters Of The Universe”—Travis’ Review

The Plot: A young man on Earth discovers a fabulous secret legacy as the prince of an alien planet and must recover a magic sword and return home to protect his kingdom.

I believe the movie was exceptionally well-crafted and exceeded my expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed the film and have already watched it twice. However, I find myself uncertain about whether I would want to see it a third, fourth, or even more times. This isn’t necessarily a negative reflection on the film; rather, there are certain movies that I tend to watch repeatedly when they truly resonate with me. In this case, two viewings feel sufficient for my enjoyment.

The lead actor portraying Adam Glenn delivered an impressive performance, showcasing his talent and bringing depth to the character. While I wasn’t familiar with the original version of this story, I was pleasantly surprised to see a special guest star at the beginning of the film. Dolph Lundgren, who starred in the original 1987 film, made a brief but memorable cameo. It was quite exciting to see him in this new iteration, and I appreciate it when films pay homage to iconic characters from previous versions, whether through reboots or remakes. Such tributes add a layer of nostalgia and connection for the audience, which I always find delightful.

Skeletor

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Jared Leto was portraying Skeletor in this film, as I only learned about it after looking up the cast. Despite the character’s lack of a traditional face, his role was pivotal to the storyline. Leto fully immersed himself in the character, transforming Skeletor into a unique interpretation that was distinctly his own. He infused the role with a remarkable sense of comedy, which kept me laughing throughout the film. His distinctive manner of speaking, acting, and overall behavior added a layer of humor that significantly contributed to the film’s charm and sustainability. Each scene he was in brought a refreshing energy that made the viewing experience enjoyable and memorable.

I Have The Power

This line, “I HAVE THE POWER,” stands out as the most impactful moment in the film. The concept of power is a significant attribute for a prince, king, or queen, and it resonates deeply throughout the narrative. In this movie, power serves as a central theme, symbolizing Adam’s inner strength and potential. As I watched, it became clear that Adam’s journey was not just about external battles but also about discovering and embracing the power that lay within him. This realization was profoundly symbolic for me, highlighting the importance of self-empowerment and the courage to reclaim one’s destiny.
